Let’s try biryani at Hotel Patiala: The Journey map
So, a heavy day since the morning and a small gap in between the class. Meanwhile, I am feeling hungry and want to go home from my workplace to have a meal. But what I found reaching to my home is that meal is not ready also I have no time to wait for the meal because of the time crunch and feeling very much hungry at the same time. So what I decided — I decided to visit a restaurant which is nearby and have a meal.
The Search for a restaurant
I am hungry and searching for a restaurant nearby that can fulfil my empty stomach. Using my phone I tried to find out the restaurants near me using google map also tried to ask some locals and my friend if there is any restaurant nearby or not. After a little struggle — I and my friend decided on the restaurant where we should go. Now the most important part is, I’ll have to travel to the restaurant from here. This task can be done only we take the cab/Auto or I use my own bike because what I found is that the restaurant is nearly 4km from here. so it is not possible that I would walk to the restaurant as there is not much time to do this and I am really hungry. Also riding a bike and going to a restaurant is not that easy task as the roads are not the same as another day because, for the last two days, there is heavy rainfall and roads are pretty much filled with water. Since I am hungry also it is really frustrating riding the bike by myself and visit the restaurant. But it’s ok I will have to go otherwise there is no option. ☹️
Wait for Fueling
Here I took my bike Pulsar 150 and moved ahead to the petrol pump. As I reached there — it was a little crowded but managed to fuel as quickly as possible.
Now the time was to pay the bill for the fuel which I did so using Paytm UPI by scanning the QR code of the petrol pump.
I didn’t get any bill for it but yeah my bike was fueled and I was ready to go to the restaurant.
The Road to the Restaurant
As I already said it was raining for the last two days and roads were filled with water and I know that I struggled a bit to ride along this road.
So I had to drive all the way to the restaurant crossing some watery roads and crowded traffic. then I reached the overbridge which is under construction right now.
Ok, so this was the second overbridge I came across which is famous due to the traffic jam it creates every day. It is because the bridge is so narrow it only allows one-sided go away for the vehicles. It is a railway over the bridge so we can often see trains passing over it. By the time I reached there — no trains were passing by and also fewer traffic jams. I felt really calm that oh! God, I could have struck on the jam but hopefully, it’s not there.
The Restaurant: Hotel Patiala
Finally, I and my friend reached the restaurant. from the outside, it was so clean and there was space to park your bike and cars. But what I found was that there was very little space for the cars to be parked. The floor outside the hotel was also good enough that anyone even a physically handicapped person won’t feel any panic because of it. They may enter with their wheelchair too.
The entrance — Just push the gate and there you go.
Here is some interior that I saw there is the restaurant. It was very claiming sitting over there. The room temperature was maintained using AC so that everyone can be comfortable during this summer session.
The ordering & Eating
As we reached the restaurant and had a seat very quickly the staff came to me and asked what I want. He was very polite so it was good to hear him. I asked for the Menu so that I can see the rate of the food that I am going to order and also some other recipes that I wanted to try. After having a look at the menu and finding the dish which best suits my hungry stomach and my wallet — I decided to order Biryani.
Here is the order that comes up with a bowl of Biryani. The smell was really good. it came along with raita and onions. They did not serve it to our plate but we did it. We enjoyed the food very much. The taste was really good and along with raita, it was delicious. Meanwhile, they adjusted the AC for us and waiters were continuously asking whether we are feeling good with the food? is it ok or not? They were interacting so much with us and that was the part we were enjoying too.
So finally we finished the meal and it was a great relief to our stomach and mind. Then we went to the washroom area which was yet clean but no so much also for hand washes there were no spray types soaps like Dettol or anything else but they were using soaps which was being touched by many people while going to the washroom and having handwash. It was a little creepy experience for me there only at the washroom.
Bill Payment
At last, we were served our bill it was 285rs.
We were out of cash so we decided to pay using UPI. I took my phone opened the Phonepe app and did the payment. it was super simple like within a few seconds it was done.
Review
Starting from my home to the restaurant, having a meal and then back home it was a good journey through different touchpoints and interaction zones. During the journey, we also experienced that asking locals for the better route is a good option and if you want to check reviews for the restaurant — Google reviews are there to help you. It was a rush going to the restaurant using my bike but yeah it could have been more comfortable if we have used a cab or auto. It is because we were already hungry and was feeling less energetic at that time, using a cab/auto might have given a bit amount of relief. The food we enjoyed was really good No doubt, as the google review was saying. But few things could have been better like the way they serve and the overall look and feel of their washroom. If they could have used Spray liquid soap then so that nobody has to touch the soap again and again.

As a summary I would like to present to you all the steps and the activities that took place between this journey from my home to the restaurant, going through different-different touchpoints, interacting with different things and persons in a single frame.
